How to resolve technical questions

 

       1.   User Manual:

       Check the instructions in the products user manual.

       2.   www.suunto.com:

        Choose the ‘Customer Service’ heading, and select the ‘FAQ’ tab.

     Review FAQ section, if your question is not covered then;

Battery Replacements / Repairs

 

  1. Battery replacement:

          Watch: Send to Suunto for replacement or replace at own risk (water damage resulting from improper battery replacement will void warranty).

          Contact Amer Customer Care for instructions (1800 651 872) or info@amersports.com.au

          Cost includes postage, battery and water-proof testing.

          POD or HR Belt: Consumer to replace themselves – all battery kits available for PODs and Belts.

       2. Repair or Warranty Claim:

          Call Suunto Customer Care on 1800 651 872 to notify issue, then send goods to the address listed below. (Proof of purchase will need to provided for a warranty claim).

          After product is received it will be assessed. The customer will then be contacted by Amer Customer Care to explain;

Warranty and servicing in Australia

 

All repairs and warranty assessments are made through Amer Sports Australia, both consumers and retail stores are free to contact us for service, contact details being:

Products purchased in Australia through an authorised retail outlet are covered under warranty for a period of two years for wrist top computers, one year for consumable parts including batteries, lifetime for field compasses and ten years for marine compasses.  Proof of purchase documentation will need to be provided for product to be assessed as a warranty claim.

 

Warranty will not cover misuse, normal wear and tear, or damage resulting from improper battery replacements.  Even though Suunto states batteries are user replaceable, in Australia we recommend battery replacements be performed through Amer to ensure warranty is not compromised.

 

Products purchased outside of Australia or through an unauthorised retail outlet are not covered under warranty in Australia.  Review of unit will attract a $66 fee.

 

When a product is required to be returned for warranty review or repair, consumer or store must first contact Amer to obtain a return authority number (RAN).  This to be kept for reference for all contact with Amer and to be referenced on the product returned.  Physical product, including proof of purchase (if under warranty assessment) to be posted at no charge to:

Once product is received at Amer it will be assessed.  If under warranty unit will be repaired or replaced, all warranty claims require proof of purchase before work commences.  If at charge customer or store will be contacted to arrange payment before work commences.  On a case by case basis, when unit is beyond economical repair and is under five years of age, customer has available to them a new unit at less 30% off retail, offer being at Amer’s discretion.     

 

Minor repairs are completed on site within five days.  Major repairs will need to be sent to our external provider, Seivers and will be completed within three weeks.  Completed units will be returned to customer or store via post or courier.

 

Each repair will need to be individually costed, based on specific parts and labour required.  General cost indications include:

 

            Minor repair labour and postage                     $33.00

            Major repair labour and postage                     $49.50

            Battery kits                                                      $12.95

            Other parts                                                      Quote to specific job

 

As each job is unique it is important to be in contact with us, we require the RAN number to access details and provide progress updates.  Without an RAN we are unable to accept responsibility for the job.
