Race on hold!
Conditions on course near mid camp.

Extreme weather conditions have forced the XPD race organisers to put the event on hold. Freezing conditions and snow fall have created very dangerous racing conditions and the race will be on hold until there are safer conditions.
Some teams have pulled out of the event the remaining teams have been moved to mid camp to wait out the bad weather. Mid camp is now a hive of activity with all the remaining teams eating and exchanging stories.
Teams: Mawson, Goldfish, Nga Rakua, Securify.co.nz, Yogi Bears and the Australaps were pulled off course from CP 9a and transported to mid camp.
Other teams were advised to make their way to mid camp via the fastest possible route.
Team BlackHeart.com.au are the only team to have completed the complete course up to mid camp. After completing the 210 KM mountain bike ride in an amazing 17 hours.
Tomorrow race organisers will make a decision in regards to the remainder of the race. Provided weather conditions improve the race should be under way again tomorrow afternoon!
In the mean time, racers, friends and families put your feet up check out the photos and videos, and enjoy the break.
